How do I use the Olyns Cube?
The Olyns Cube was designed to be a convenient experience for our users. Tap in touchlessly with your mobile phone, then deposit your empty uncrushed beverage containers into the Olyns Cube. The small screen displays the number of containers you deposit.
What materials does the Olyns Cube accept?
The Cubes accept uncrushed beverage containers made of plastic and aluminum.
What happens to the containers I deposit in the Cube?
Olyns uses AI to identify and sort containers at the point of deposit into separate bins. Olyns keeps plastic and aluminum separate to avoid contamination so all deposited containers can be recycled into new containers. Containers deposited in an Olyns Cube never end up in landfills, oceans, or incinerators.
How often do the Cubes get emptied?
The Cubes are monitored remotely in real time and emptied every time they are full, typically several times a day. Dynamic collection allows Olyns to respond to user deposit activity in real time, and ensures a greater level of Cube availability than would a pre-determined collection schedule.
Why does the Olyns Cube sometimes show me the message: "That's Crushed Aluminum!" or "That's Crushed Plastic!"
If you insert a crushed container, The Cube will detect this and let you know that the crushed container is not eligible for deposit because it might get jammed inside the Olyns Cube and block the deposit of other containers. Please recycle only uncrushed plastic bottles and aluminum cans at Olyns.
